FUTURE LEADERS
DANBURY POLICE CADETS | POST#33
STRONGER COMMUNITIES

ABOUT US

The Danbury Police Cadets is a para-military program for individuals interested in law enforcement, public safety, and public service. The program introduces Cadets to the field of law enforcement while providing opportunities to build practical skills, gain experience, and become active members of the community. Through the guidance of police officers, advisors, and Cadet leaders, Cadets are introduced to the responsibilities and expectations that come with a career in law enforcement. Cadets are encouraged to develop professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and respect while representing the program both inside and outside of the department.

Our program brings together youth from different backgrounds and experiences with a common interest in serving others. From learning about law enforcement to participating in community activities, Cadets are given opportunities to see the many paths that public service can offer. The Danbury Police Cadets is also a place to build lasting connections. Cadets work together, take on new responsibilities, and support one another throughout their time in the program.

Whether a Cadet goes on to pursue a career in law enforcement, another area of public service, or a completely different field, the experiences gained through the program can become a valuable part of their journey.

WHAT WE DO

The Danbury Police Cadets stay active throughout the year by participating in a variety of meetings, training sessions, community events, and other activities. Each experience gives Cadets the opportunity to learn new skills, gain valuable knowledge, work as a team, and become more involved with the Danbury Police Department and the local community. Through these activities, Cadets also develop responsibility, leadership, communication, and teamwork skills while gaining a better understanding of law enforcement and public service. These experiences help prepare Cadets for future opportunities while allowing them to make a positive contribution to the community.

MEETINGS

Cadet meetings are held every Thursday throughout the year and typically last three hours. During meetings, Cadets have uniform inspections, discuss upcoming events, receive important announcements, participate in presentations, and prepare for activities.

Meetings also give Cadets the opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and stay connected with fellow members and the program.
